March 18, 2024

The UW-Madison Extension Community Food Systems Program is providing no-cost virtual workshops for small-scale food and farming business start-ups on Mondays in April, from April 1st to April 29th.

Join us for the first webinar of the 5-part series on Monday, April 1, 2024. During the webinar titled “Wisconsin Food Licensing: Getting Your Transient Retail License through DATCP,” Extension Educator Jess Guffey Calkins and Licensing Specialist Charlie Bloom to learn how to navigate the process for getting Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) licenses and inspections to sell at your local farmers market. Presenters will use examples of licensing for vendors selling eggs, meat, or produce.

“We like to highlight the excellent and personable Licensing Specialists at DATCP in our workshops, so that Wisconsin food and farming entrepreneurs feel more confident contacting DATCP, asking their questions, and getting their businesses started,” said Jessica Jane Spayde, Food Entrepreneurship Specialist at the Community Food Systems Program at UW-Madison Extension.

Registration for this free event is available online at: https://go.wisc.edu/gy76k4.
