The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension as well as the State of Wisconsin provide numerous resources for those starting and marketing a local food business.
The Division of Extension has compiled resources for organizations and households grappling with increased need for emergency food. The COVID-19 pandemic has created urgent food security challenges for households and communities across Wisconsin. Since the virus-induced economic crisis began, more than 90,000 additional people have enrolled in FoodShare, Wisconsin’s largest nutrition program alone.
To help licensed Wisconsin food cart and food truck vendors implement best practices during the COVID-19 emergency, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension Food Systems Program and the City of Madison developed the COVID-19 Resource Guide for Licensed Food Cart and Food Truck Vendors in Wisconsin.
